Gustavo Rojas My work conveys the powerful presence of nature as it contrasts with the transitory and hurried nature of modern life. I capture the inapprehensible in those fugitive glances that merge and equal everything.
Gustavo Rojas received post-secondary training in painting at the Roberto Ruiz Rojas Cultural 10Center in Ibagué, Colombia. He received a BFA from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1991 and an MFA in painting from San Francisco State University in 1996. He has shown his work at the Círculo Nacional de Periodistas in Bogotá (1981), the Sala Javier Alzate Avendaño in Bogotá (1982), and the North Country Regional Juried Art Show at SUNY Potsdam, New York (1997). In this last exhibit, he won best in show, and the winning work became part of the permanent collection at the Gibson Gallery. He can be contacted at gustavorojasart@gmail.com.
